Dr. Weston Richter, D.V.M.
(The Owner)
Dr. Richter graduated from Georgia University in 1979. He is originally from Florida and moved to California in 1980. He is now going on his 25th year at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group.
His interest is in general surgery for cats and dogs, as well as orthopedics. Dr. Richter is the father of 5 children ranging in ages from 5 -19. His activities include hiking, camping, golfing, all sports, and rock n' roll.
Jan Evanson
(Practice Manager)
Jan is going on her 24th year at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group. She's the gal with the eternal smile on her face. Jan keeps the pulse of the hospital beating, while trying to keep everyone happy!!!
Jan grew up in Sherman Oaks (local grown gal) and now lives on a ranch in Acton, with her husband and teenagers. Jan also shares her home with her horses, dogs, and cats.
Her favorite activities outside of the office are horseback riding, gardening and cooking. Most of all she enjoys just being with her family and friends.
Dr. Sally Lane, M.S., D.V.M., C.V.A., C.C.R.T.
( Holistic medicine, Acupuncture & Rehabilitation Therapy)
Dr. Lane received her doctorate in veterinary medicine with honors in 2005 from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in Canada. Dr. Lane continued her training in complementary and integrative veterinary medicine and obtained certifications in Canine Rehabilitation (CCRT) and Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA). In 2009 Dr. Lane completed a fellowship program in pain management and rehabilitation therapy at the peak performance veterinary group/ Veterinary specialty hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Dr. Lane is currently completing certification in veterinary chinese herbal medicine. Her areas of practice also include nutrition, geriatric medine, fitness/ conditioning, and herbal therapies. Dr. Lane is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Association of rehabilitation veterinarians, and the american canine sports medicine association. She shares her life with her family, friends, & loving canine companions Brodie & Kayla, two cats, Shu-bear and Ketch.

Dr. Hillary Hickam D.V.M.
( Small animal, Small mammals, Birds & Exotics )
Dr. Hickam was born in Oklahoma but grew up in Dallas, TX. After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a BA and a BFA, she lived in New York City for 5 years. ( Ask her about her first career!) She relocated to Los Angeles in 2000 and did a post-baccalaureate in science at UCLA.
While in veterinary school at Western University, she spent 6 weeks at Cornell university specializing in avian and exotic medicine. and spent a month each at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in NYC and at Colorado State University. She also spent months at the LA Zoo, studying and treating animals. Following graduation in 2007, she completed an internship in emergency medicine, surgery and critical care at ASEC in West LA. Dr. Hickam loves treating small animals, and has a particular interest in and a fondness for birds and exotics ("Pocket Pets")
When she isn't working, Dr. Hickman enjoys traveling the world. She often engages in humanitarian, animal aid work in underprivileged countries and thrives on educating the public not only about care for domestic pets, but also about the conservation and care of wildlife. She enjoys scuba diving, movies, theatre, playing video games, and cuddling with her dog.

Dr. Shyla Franklin D.V.M.
Dr. Shyla Franklin has been both a general practitioner and emergency veterinarian in Southern California since 2004. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Illinois, Dr. Franklin went on to attend veterinary school and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Shyla Franklin attended the University of Illinois, where she was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2000. She went on to attend the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Her professional interests included internal medicine and surgery.
With a strong interest in acting and dancing, Dr. Franklin frequently performs in local theater productions. She also enjoys swimming, movies, shopping, bowling and spending time with her family. At home, she cares for two cats, Beauty and Misty.

Dr. Robert Clipsham D.V.M.
Dr. Clipsham joined our practice in early 2006. He earned a B.S. with a major in chemistry and a minor in physics followed by an externship in pathology at Washington State University during his doctoral studies in veterinary medicine, graduating in 1980 from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He went on to postgraduate specialized training in laboratory medicine, laser medicine, orthopedics, and an internship at UC Davis. He has practiced in the Southland for over 30 years and has been both chief of staff at several clinics, as well as practice owner for many years before coming to us. He has been recognized by his peers for over 15 years of presentations at state, national and international conferences, as well as over 100 published articles on pet health care in various professional and industry journals.
He more recently completed additional postgraduate training at the UCLA School of Medicine and the prestigious Paul Boyer Molecular Biology Institute at UCLA in 2005. He graduated with a Doctorate in comparative pediatric molecular genetics, plus a postdoctoral scholarship in regenerative tissue engineering and was a National Institute of Health Fellow in molecular ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA where he was a comparative geneticist engineering models for therapeutic target identification for diseases involving pediatric blindness.
He continues to share his interests with other veterinarians, vet specialty groups and high school students throughout Southern California via regular lecture presentations.
Dr. Clipsham has a long term special interest in pediatrics, internal medicine and cats and welcomes all puppies and kitties of any age. He recently had the opportunity to present one of our patients, Ono, the oldest living pet dog on a segment of Animal Planet. This segment was filmed in our clinic and can be seen on cable from time to time. Sadly, Ono passed at the age of 23 last Summer. Dr Clipsham is also a long term avid audiophile and unrequited fine arts student.
Dr. Darci Jimenez D.V.M.
Dr. Jimenez received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. A native of southern California, Dr. Jimenez was born and raised in sunny Santa Barbara and attended UCLA for both her BA degree and post-baccalaureate in science. Prior to veterinary school she worked as a special education teacher before pursuing her passion for animals and medicine. Her many exciting experiences have included extership in oncology, shelter medicine with Los Angeles Animals Services and a zoo animal/exotic experience at the LA Zoo. she has particular interest in both oncology and dermatology.
Dr. Jimenez loves being active outdoors and spends as much time camping, hiking, and swimming as possible. she loves both the mountains and beach, but also enjoys quiet times reading with a good book. Dr. Jimenez shares her time with friends and family, including her husband, young son kody, yellow labrador retriever Wiley and goldfish glub glub.
